Description

This richly decorated high altar features on its façade a bas-relief of the Last Supper, framed by figures in polychromed niches. The retable at the back originally surmounted the altar in three sections. The tabernacle, topped with a contemporary painting by the artist Albertin G., occupies the central section, flanked by a frieze of eight kneeling angels in bas-relief. The upper part of the altar is dominated by three statues: Christ at the center beneath a pinnacled canopy, flanked by the Virgin and Saint John. The ensemble combines traditional decorative elements with modern features, rendered in vibrant polychromy against a gilded background.
