Discover the Digital Reconstructions of the Column Statues of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux

Known for its collegiate church listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Notre-Dame-en-Vaux is also renowned for its exceptional collection of medieval sculptures. Brought to light by Sylvia and Léon Pressouyre between 1963 and 1976, these remnants of a former cloister, now disappeared, bear witness to the transition between Romanesque and Gothic art in the 12th century. As part of an ambitious digital restoration project, the Cloister Museum of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux is reopening with an enriched eCorpus database featuring a new collection, where you can admire unprecedented reconstructions of the most iconic pieces among the masterpieces of Châlons-en-Champagne.

The Holograms of the Treasures of Oignies in Namur

Taking advantage of the 3D digitization of the treasure, the TreM.a Museum acquired from Holusion an Iris 32 holographic projector paired with a touchscreen and an eCorpus application to display in high resolution a selection of the most emblematic pieces from the collection.

eCorpus in the Hands of IRHiS Students

eCorpus demonstrates its educational value once again, this time within the Faculty of Humanities in Lille and the Institute of Historical Research of the North (IRHiS). A promotion campaign was launched in collaboration with the research institute, the company Holusion, and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille. Through this initiative, third-year undergraduate students were able to digitize museum artworks themselves using iPads and photogrammetry software.

Use of eCorpus for Teaching at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi

eCorpus is used by the Department of History and Art History to facilitate the teaching of these disciplines to undergraduate and master’s students. The objective is twofold: to help students become more autonomous in their presentations and research projects by structuring their work around a 3D representation of an artwork, and to provide the institution with a space for innovation and experimentation in showcasing its own collections and conservation efforts.

Making Smithsonian Voyager files collaborative

As any web-based tool, the Smithsonian Digitization Office’s Voyager Story editor is susceptible to being used in parallel by multiple peoples. This becomes a problem when two people are editing the same file at the same time, as the last one to save will overwrite the other’s changes.
